Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 May 2025
The short version
Loggr does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data. Everything stays on your device.
Data we collect
None. Loggr does not collect any personal information, usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry data. We have no servers that receive your data, no user accounts, and no tracking of any kind.
On-device processing
All features in Loggr run entirely on your iPhone or iPad:
- Odometer reading — extracted using Apple's on-device Vision framework. Your photos are never uploaded anywhere.
- Vehicle recognition — dashboard fingerprints are generated and compared locally using on-device machine learning.
- Location data — captured via iOS Core Location and stored only in your local database.
- Weather data — fetched from Apple WeatherKit based on your location. Apple's own privacy policies apply to this service.
Data storage
All trip data, vehicle information, and dashboard photos are stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data framework. This data is not synced to any cloud service, and is only accessible to the Loggr app.
Third-party services
Loggr uses the following Apple system services:
- Apple WeatherKit — to fetch weather conditions for your trip locations. This request goes directly from your device to Apple's servers. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Apple Vision Framework — for on-device OCR. No data leaves your device.
- Apple Core Location — for GPS positioning. Location data is processed and stored locally.
Loggr does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Data sharing
We do not share any data with third parties because we do not have access to your data in the first place. When you export trips as PDF or CSV, those files are generated locally and shared only through the iOS share sheet at your discretion.
Children's privacy
Loggr does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app does not require account creation and collects no personal data from any user.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change our privacy practices, we will update this page. Given Loggr's privacy-first architecture, we do not anticipate significant changes.
